Brussels Airlines Cuts 8 Routes, Including Marrakech, in Post-COVID Restructuring

After the coronavirus crisis, Brussels Airlines will not resume flights to eight of its destinations, including Marrakech.
According to Belga, Brussels Airlines will no longer serve the ochre city until the end of March 2021, due to the termination of the contract with the partner airline CityJet, which operated this destination. As a consequence, the reduction of the number of aircraft to five.
Among the routes abandoned by Brussels Airlines are popular tourist destinations. According to a company spokesperson, demand is not the only criterion that has weighed in the decision. "Popular and profitable are two different things," concludes the company representative.
In addition, Brussels Airlines announced on Monday the resumption of its flights scheduled for May 15, while stating that it is working to relaunch its activities, "with a reduced but stable flight offer".
