British Woman Dies in Fall While Climbing Morocco’s Highest Peak Without Guide

While attempting to climb a mountain in Morocco over 4,100 meters high "without a guide" accompanied by her companion, a British woman fell into a crevasse. She died on the spot.
As she was climbing Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa, on October 25, a British woman fell into an area of the mountain called "Aslghi" near "Tizi" - one of the highest points of the mountain, where climbers who have reached the summit often pose for photos. She fell into a hole. Seriously injured, she died on the spot.
Informed, elements of the Royal Gendarmerie, civil protection and local authorities went to the scene to transport the victim’s body. An investigation has also been opened to clarify the circumstances of the tragedy. "We have provided support to the family of a British woman who died in Morocco on October 25," a spokesman for the British Foreign Office told MailOnline.
This is not the first time that deaths have been recorded on this mountain. In 2016, Connor Jarvis, a British teenager, died during a hike in the Atlas Mountains. His body was found on Mount Toubkal on June 4, 2016, 12 days after he set out on the hike.
