Bordeaux Airport Wildfires Disrupt Morocco Flights

Violent wildfires striking Gironde are disrupting travel around Bordeaux. Several flights to Essaouira, Casablanca and Marrakech remain scheduled, but passengers are advised to verify their status before heading to the airport.

Thousands of residents and vacationers have been evacuated from the Arcachon basin and towns near Bordeaux threatened by the flames. Some of them spent the night in a reception center set up at the exhibition park.

Three departures to Morocco displayed

The departure board at Bordeaux-Mérignac showed an EasyJet flight to Essaouira at 7:15 p.m., the Royal Air Maroc flight AT799 to Casablanca at 8:05 p.m. and another EasyJet to Marrakech at 8:15 p.m.

No cancellations were indicated on this display. However, the rapid evolution of the fires, smoke and traffic difficulties could complicate access to the airport or lead to operational adjustments. Travelers must consult directly with their airline and Bordeaux-Mérignac information before departure.
