Belgium Seeks to Double Repatriation Flights for Citizens Stranded in Morocco

A collective of "Belgian-Moroccans stranded in Morocco" is asking the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense, Philippe Goffin, to work for the doubling of repatriation flights, in order to accelerate the return of citizens who have remained stranded in the Kingdom. If this request were to be accepted, the two weekly flights would increase to four per week.
In a press release, this collective indicates that "the repatriation of Belgians in Morocco continues at a rate of two weekly flights with a capacity of 400 repatriates per week", since June 2. In charge, the airline TUI Fly.
It is asking the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense to increase these repatriation flights to four per week. Since Morocco decided, on Wednesday, to extend the state of health emergency until July 10th next. "Which means that Morocco will not open its airspace anytime soon," the statement notes.
The collective of "Belgian-Moroccans stranded in Morocco" is saddened by the lack of effective coordination between the Belgian embassy in Rabat and the TUI Fly company because "behind these coordination problems, there are very sick and elderly people who are not repatriated, where others, in good health, are repatriated".
Some people are repatriated without receiving a call or a letter from the embassy, others are still called by the embassy for a repatriation in June while they were repatriated at the beginning of May, which demonstrates, if need be, the extreme amateurism of part of its team, adds the collective.
And to ask the Belgian state to reveal "how many of our compatriots are still stranded in Morocco".
