Belgium Restricts Travel from Morocco Despite EU ’Safe Countries’ List

Belgium has decided not to open its borders to Morocco, which is nevertheless one of the 15 "safe" countries to which Europe had agreed to welcome nationals from July 1.
Belgium did not accede to the request of the Council of the European Union to authorize nationals from the list of 15 countries to come to Europe for non-essential travel, reports Belga.
Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Montenegro, New Zealand, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand and Uruguay are on this provisional list. China is not on it but could benefit from a special status provided that the Middle Kingdom respects the principle of reciprocity by authorizing travel by Europeans to China.
This list could be revised every two weeks to include or exclude countries.
