Belgium to Repatriate ISIS Children from Syria, Excluding Mothers

Belgium will ensure the repatriation of the children of Belgian jihadists from Syria, but this will not be the case for their mothers. This is what the Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Philippe Goffin, has just declared, intervening after several weeks of controversy.
Forced by a court decision, which requires it to repatriate the children of Belgian jihadists and their mothers from Syria, the Belgian state has appealed. To justify this government behavior, the Minister of Foreign Affairs stated: "We want the children, who are the victims of the behavior of their mothers, to be able to return here in decent conditions".
However, for Philippe Goffin, the criminal status of the mothers does not even allow them to be repatriated. "When you are a parent, you can also look after the well-being of your own children. Most of these mothers are in any case sentenced in Belgium to prison sentences. They will therefore be separated from their children," he observed.
