Belgium Mandates Digital Covid Certificate for Short-Stay Travelers, Including Moroccans

Starting this Friday, Moroccan and other travelers arriving on Belgian territory must present a Digital Covid Certificate. This is the decision taken by the Interministerial Health Conference (CIM), which brings together the various Ministers of Health of the country.

In addition to the possibility of a third dose for people vaccinated with Johnson&Johnson, all travelers arriving in Belgium for short stays of less than 48 hours must present a Digital Covid Certificate, namely a valid vaccination certificate or a recent test or recovery certificate, reports the local press. Those who have a certificate will no longer have to be tested or observed in quarantine.

It is mandatory for Belgian residents who do not have one of these certificates and who travel from a country with an unfavorable epidemiological situation - in particular countries marked in dark red on the European map and third countries that are not on the European white list - to undergo a rapid antigen test (RAT) or a PCR test on the first day after their arrival in Belgium.

As for people coming from countries or regions with circulation of a new variant of concern (VOC), they still have to comply with strict testing rules (on the 1st and 7th day) and quarantine (10 days).
