Belgium to Honor Moroccan World War II Soldiers in 80th Anniversary Tribute

To the Moroccan soldiers who fell with weapons in hand during World War II, Belgium wishes to be grateful. Motonobu Kasajima, general delegate of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation in Morocco, announced this country’s intention to pay tribute to these brave soldiers.
During the talks with the President of the House of Representatives, Habib El Malki, Motonobu Kasajima indicated that this tribute is part of the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the battles against the Nazi forces.
The general delegate of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation in Morocco said that the President of the Parliament of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation intends to strengthen cooperation between the two legislative institutions, a press release from the House of Representatives said. He also recalled that the two parties had signed a memorandum of understanding in 2018 aimed at strengthening dialogue, consultation and the exchange of experiences and expertise.
According to Habib El Malki, President of the House of Representatives, the death of Moroccan soldiers on Belgian territory, to defend freedom and face Nazism, reflects the common values between the two peoples.
