Belgian Volunteers Face Death Threats in Morocco Over Shorts Controversy

The young Belgian volunteer girls working on a construction site in southern Morocco provoked the wrath of some radicalized Moroccans, because of their attire. They are threatened with death.
Wearing shorts by girls is not accepted by everyone in Morocco. A group of young Belgian girls, volunteering, in shorts, on a construction site, in the south of the country, is a perfect illustration of this. Their outfit provoked vehement reactions like this call for beheading, launched by a 26-year-old teacher.
The police will not be long in responding to this clear position of the teacher. It will arrest him for "having published a hateful message on Facebook", indicates a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The teacher’s message follows the broadcast of a video report showing these volunteers working on a construction site, in a village near Taroudant. The man’s call for beheading refers to the murder of two Scandinavian tourists, perpetrated in 2018 by radicalized Moroccans, in the name of the "Islamic State" group. The DGSN ensures that the teacher will be prosecuted for "incitement to terrorist acts".
The attitude of the young Belgians has also provoked the indignation of Ali El Asri, a deputy of the Islamist party (PJD, at the head of the governing coalition). On his page, he is outraged: "Since when do Europeans do work in swimwear?".
