Belgian-Moroccan Author Goes Undercover as Beggar for New Book on Urban Poverty

The former deputy mayor of the Municipality of Evere in Brussels, the Moroccan novelist Fatiha Saidi, put herself in the shoes of a beggar, for the needs of her book which will be published by Éditions La Boîte à Pandore next October.
A unique but above all painful experience that the Belgian-Moroccan woman wanted to live, in order to better understand the daily life of beggars and the various vicissitudes endured by this segment of society.
Born in the city of Oran, from a Moroccan family originally from the Rif, the former member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is an activist who has dedicated her life to the struggle both within the socialist and ecologist parties.
Today, it is in the capacity of a novelist that Fatiha Saidi has chosen to wage her battle against social inequalities, by putting her pen at the service of the underprivileged classes.
Fatiha Saidi has decided to donate a portion of the royalties from this book to the "Restos du Coeur".
