Belgian-Moroccan Athlete Amal Amjahid Secures Bronze in Abu Dhabi Ju-Jitsu World Championships

The Moroccan-origin Molenbeekoise Amal Amjahid won a bronze medal last Friday at the UAEFIJ Ju-Jitsu World Championships, held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. After several cancellations, the champion is happy to finally regain the adrenaline of competitions.
"After the very complicated period I went through, I tell myself, in the end, that I made the right decision by going to Abu Dhabi. I found myself," explains the athlete. She took the opportunity of this interview to confide to the newspaper her decision to leave the French-speaking Ju-Jitsu federation, the FFJJ. "I had a major conflict with certain people in the federation that led me to resign. For my mental health, it was better this way, because I didn’t feel good at all," reports bx1.
With this departure, Amal Amjahid will no longer be able to participate in competitions organized by the JJIF, one of the three international Ju-Jitsu federations. She confirms that she will participate in the next professional events of the other two federations, if the health crisis allows it. "And I continue to represent Belgium, because I love my country, simply," she recalls. For the moment, the FFJJ has not commented on this departure.
