Belgian Jihadists Escape Syrian Prison: Identities Revealed, Terror Threat Concerns Rise

We know a little more about the identity of these two jihadists: Yassine Cheikhi and Mohamed Botachbaqut. Imprisoned in northeastern Syria, they were able to escape, as confirmed by Paul Van Tigchelt, Director of the Coordination and Analysis Body for the Threat (OCAM), before the Foreign Relations Committee of the Chamber.
Deputy Dallemagne disclosed the names, in plenary session, with all the information concerning them. Yassine Cheikhi, 26 years old, was initially announced as dead.
As for the second, Mohamed Botachbaqut, 46 years old, from Brussels, he prefers to be a candidate as a suicide bomber in an attack in Europe, adds the parliamentarian who regrets that these two terrorists are "now free and have slipped under the radar", without being detected.
The same parliamentary source claims that the Belgian security services could not confirm the information revealed, on the grounds that they do not have exclusive ownership of it. However, he reports that he was able to obtain this information from a journalist present in the same region as the criminals.
According to local media, these two fighters have already been convicted in Belgium, by default, to five years in prison, in two separate cases.
Yassine Cheikhi, from Schaerbeek, is charged with having joined Syria in 2013 and Mohamed Botachbaqut is implicated for his links with the recruitment network of Khalid Zerkani, before joining the IS in 2014.
