Belgian ISIS Families Sue Government for Repatriation from Syrian Camps

With the help of their lawyers, Abderrahim Lahlali and Mohamed Ozdemir, a wounded terrorist, three widows of the terrorist group Islamic State (IS) and their ten children are suing the Belgian state. They only ask to be repatriated to Belgium.
The two lawyers will initiate the procedures, and the case of the terrorist Adel Mezroui, the three wives of fighters, namely Nadia Baghouri, Jessie Van Eetvelde and Sabah Hammani, and their ten children, aged 6 months to 7 years, will be dealt with on Thursday or Friday in Brussels, report De Morgen and Het Laatste Nieuws.
According to the same sources, the women and children are currently in the Al Hol refugee camp in northeastern Syria. The terrorist, for his part, is injured in the Al-Hasakah Kurdish prison.
The summons provides information on the health of the children. They suffer from malnutrition and chronic diarrhea, and one of them had his right arm amputated.
The lawyers only want one thing: the transfer of their clients as soon as possible, more precisely, within 15 days, to a safe place, either in Belgium or in a neighboring country of Syria such as Turkey, Jordan or Lebanon. Failing that, they intend to demand a penalty of 7,500 euros per day per person from the Belgian state, capped at 1.5 million per applicant.
According to Abderrahim Lahlali and Mohamed Ozdemir, the Belgian government has so far not taken into account the advice of the Federal Prosecutor, Frédéric Van Leeuw, and the Director of the Coordination and Analysis Unit of the Threat (OCAM), Paul Van Tigchelt. They had once again pleaded before Parliament for these people to be brought back and tried in Belgium.
