Belgian Influencer Files Transphobia Complaint Against Brussels Restaurant Over Dress Code Incident

For having been turned away from the Drug Opéra, a restaurant in Brussels, Haron Zaanan, a Belgian model and influencer of Moroccan origin, has just filed a complaint for discrimination and transphobia, according to a spokesperson for the Brussels-Ixelles police.
On January 30, Haron Zaanan had gone to a restaurant in the center of Brussels wearing a dress that revealed his shoulders. When he had asked to have a dessert, a waiter asked him to cover his shoulders or leave the establishment. The young Moroccan does not intend to let such a humiliation pass, especially since according to the management of the Drug Opéra, some customers complained about this outfit worn by a man, reports bx1.be.
"It’s not because the manager told me it wasn’t a gender issue that it isn’t. And precisely, it is," Haron Zaanan had estimated after the events. The scene was filmed and posted on social media. The management apologized, and even took the initiative to contact the Institute for Equality between Men and Women to find out how to react in the future in this type of situation.
