Belgian Drug Kingpin from Antwerp Arrested at Casablanca Airport

The border police services arrested, at the Mohammed V airport in Casablanca, a Belgian of Algerian origin, a drug criminal from Antwerp under five international arrest warrants issued by the Belgian authorities.
Mohamed R.C., a young Algerian in his twenties, was arrested at Mohammed V airport while trying to enter Moroccan territory. He had just disembarked from a plane from Istanbul (Turkey). His true identity was discovered after the border police entered his name in their systems, reports the daily Al Akhbar. Seized by the Brussels justice system, Interpol had issued a red notice against the young Algerian. In Morocco, the border police were already aware of this, which facilitated the traveler’s arrest.
The Belgian authorities had issued five international arrest warrants against the young man. The latter would be involved in drug trafficking, kidnapping, sequestration and the formation of a criminal gang, including the Sky ECC encrypted messaging software case. Pending his appearance before the public prosecutor’s office, the young Algerian was placed in custody. The Interpol office in Rabat will be responsible for informing the Belgian security services of his arrest.
