Belgian Court Upholds Expulsion Order for Controversial Imam Hassan Iquioussen

The appeal of imam Hassan Iquioussen against his expulsion to France was rejected on Monday by the justice system.
The preacher born in France had contested an order to leave the territory with a view to deportation issued by the Belgian authorities on November 15. An emergency appeal had then been filed before the Council for Alien Law Litigation (CCE) in Belgium.
On Monday, the court handed down its verdict, rejecting the imam’s request, who now finds himself in a dead end. As a result of this decision, Hassan Iquioussen should be expelled to France, if the latter so wishes. A scenario that seems likely, since the French authorities are seeking to arrest him in order to deport him to Morocco.
For the record, the imam is accused by France of "proselytizing discourse inciting hatred and discrimination and carrying a vision of Islam contrary to the values of the Republic". The man is also on the S list. The Council of State had validated at the end of August his expulsion to the kingdom.
