Belgian Cocaine Ring Trial: El Ballouti Brothers Face Charges in Antwerp Port Smuggling Case

A legal case in Antwerp concerns the involvement of members of the El Ballouti family, of Moroccan origin, in a cocaine importation through the port. Three brothers, Othman, Younes and Nordin, are linked to this case, which has recent developments including an arrest, a fugitive, and an appeal procedure.
The initial convictions in this case had been handed down by the Antwerp correctional court. Othman El Ballouti, described as a "priority target" and considered the alleged leader of the organization, had been sentenced to twenty years in prison. His brothers, Younes "El Magico" and Nordin (45 years old), had been sentenced to eight and seven years in prison respectively for their participation in this cocaine importation.
Regarding recent developments, Nordin El Ballouti was arrested last Friday based on an international arrest warrant issued by Belgium, information confirmed by several sources to the newspaper Gazet van Antwerpen. His case is also to be examined on appeal this week by the Antwerp Court of Appeal. Meanwhile, his brother Younes El Ballouti is on the run and is believed to be currently in Morocco.
The initial case also involved Mohamed T., known by the alias "The Investigating Judge" and Nordin El Ballouti’s brother-in-law. The house of Mohamed T.’s parents, located on Tweemontstraat, was recently targeted by two separate attacks. It had been reported during the initial trial that relations between Mohamed T. and brothers Younes and Othman El Ballouti were strained, particularly due to Mohamed T.’s criticism of the recusal procedures that had delayed the trial.
