Belgian Buses Banned for Pollution in Brussels Now Operating in Moroccan City

Dozens of polluting buses banned from circulation in Brussels are currently being used on the roads of the city of Oujda, causing surprise and concern.
These are 179 buses belonging to the Société des Transports Intercommunaux de Bruxelles, which could no longer run in the Brussels low emission zone, reports Sud Info.
These buses spotted notably in Berkane would be Euro3 standard, that is to say registered between 2001 and 2006. They have been banned in Brussels since January 1, 2020 because of their high environmental impact.
Concerned, a STIB source declared to the media "if these old buses are too polluting to run in the capital of Europe, why can they continue to pollute elsewhere on the planet, and in particular in North Africa?"
