Belgian Bus Company Managers Convicted in Cannabis Smuggling Operation

The judicial police of Brussels arrested two Belgian-Moroccans managing a Brussels-Casablanca bus travel company, whose drivers had transported cannabis hidden in "Moroccan cakes". They were all sentenced to various prison terms.
It all started with an anonymous letter sent to the Brussels judicial police in March 2019 to inform them of the regular importation of hundreds of kilos of cannabis resin by a company organizing Brussels-Casablanca bus trips, says L’Avenir. The police use special investigative methods to dismantle this network. They wiretap the phones of the two managers of the company who are Belgian-Moroccans.
The investigators learn that a bus will arrive in Brussels from Casablanca, with "Moroccan cakes" on board. The drivers were to ensure the disembarkation of the passengers in Brussels-Midi and then return to a warehouse, near the canal, to unload the "cakes". A few days later, the bus arrives at night, drops off about thirty travelers, and returns to a warehouse, near the canal, to unload the "cakes". The drivers carry out their mission. As they were leaving the canal in a plain Citroën C3 Picasso, they were arrested by the investigators.
During separate interrogations, one of them proves cooperative. He tells the investigators that he was on his third trip carrying "h" and that his two bosses were paying him a pittance. He also names two bodybuilders from Jumet. They are the ones who made the hiding places. This information allowed the investigators to arrest the two managers of the travel companies and the two bodybuilders from Jumet.
Prosecuted before the Belgian justice system, the two Belgian-Moroccans were sentenced to seven years in prison. The talkative driver was sentenced to three years in prison, while the second was sentenced to 4 years. As for the two bodybuilders from Jumet, they were each sentenced to 40 months in prison.
