Asylum-Seeking Families Evicted from Nantes Squat, Aid Group Steps In

Moroccan families and their children, asylum seekers and originally from Morocco, were evicted from a squat located in Nantes. Originally from other African countries, they were immediately taken care of by the Association, "The Other Canteen".
A sad fate for these families. After leaving their country of origin for France, in search of a better life, they find themselves homeless overnight. Among them are Chadians, Guineans and Sudanese, as well as some from Morocco.
About twenty people were ordered to leave by the police on Tuesday, September 3, after having stayed there for nine months. They had to leave the premises with their belongings piled up in bags and boxes before being picked up and taken care of by the aforementioned association.
