No Arabs Here": The Shameful Sign Shocking a Residential Building in Entraigues-sur-la-Sorgue (Vaucluse)
In Entraigues-sur-la-Sorgue, residents of an apartment building are in shock after discovering a hateful message targeting a family of North African origin. Facing this xenophobic act, the neighborhood is standing united and a complaint will be filed.
The inscription written in capital letters with red marker on a simple A4 sheet is unequivocal: "No Arabs here". This message was posted on the evening of Friday, April 24 on the door of a residence in the Moulin des Toiles neighborhood. According to Ici, this attack is clearly targeting a family that has lived on the landing for six years. The mother of three children, who links this intimidation to the fact that she has recently been wearing the veil, says she is disgusted but determined not to back down. She has moreover announced her intention to take legal action.

Facing this hostility, indignation is spreading among the other residents, deeply outraged by the situation. "Frankly, I am appalled," confides a neighbor who came to support the mother, while another tenant denounces an "atrocious" act. To show their support, the neighborhood is even considering asking the syndicate council to post a message stating a categorical refusal of this kind of ideas. For his part, the mayor of the municipality, William Bouquet, firmly condemned an act that is "unacceptable" and "clearly racist." Sent to the scene by the mayor to conduct checks, the municipal police found that the hateful message had already been removed.
