New App Empowers Citizens to Document Police Encounters in France

In France, the collective "Urgence Notre Police Assassine" has launched an application to fight against police violence, of which Maghrebians are often victims. It allows citizens to film the police during their arrests or checks.
In detail, the application allows you to film police interventions, record images that are directly transferred to the association’s servers, and be offered legal assistance if necessary. The "Urgence Notre Police Assassine" collective calls on any witness of police violence to film the scene.
"We will thus be in possession of videos that can undermine the official version of the police. And we will be able to act by supporting the victims each time it is necessary. With our collective of lawyers ready to support the victims and their families before the courts," explains the association.
According to the collective, this application was launched to put an end to police impunity. "Urgence Notre Police Assassine" is available on Android and soon on iOS.
In France, there are more Maghrebians and Africans than native French among the victims of police violence.
