Antwerp Man Sentenced to 24 Years for Cousin’s Fatal Stabbing in Apartment Dispute

Tried for the murder of his distant cousin Mohamed El Ebrahimi, 25, Mohamed "Bob" Ebrahimi, 48, was sentenced to 24 years in prison by the Antwerp Assize Court.
The events took place in the apartment of a friend in Hof ter Lo in the Antwerp district of Borgerhout on December 16, 2017. Mohamed "Bob" Ebrahimi (48) and his distant cousin Mohamed El Ebrahimi were staying there in the meantime. That day, the former had stabbed the latter to death. The drama originated from a dispute over the authoritarian behavior of the accused and the victim’s insistence that he leave the apartment, reports La Dernière Heure.
The accused turned himself in to the police after the incident. Taking into account the morality of the murderer, the public prosecutor had requested 26 years in prison. Mohamed "Bob" Ebrahmi (48) was residing illegally in Belgium, using drugs, and had been convicted of drug and theft offenses. This is the first time he has been tried for serious violent crimes.
The verdict is in: Mohamed is sentenced to 24 years in prison.
