Andalusia Slashes Taxes to Lure Wealthy Expats and Foreign Investors

The President of the Andalusia region, Juanma Moreno, said on Wednesday that Andalusia’s new tax reform aims to attract the wealthy from Morocco, Catalonia, Portugal and the United Kingdom.
With this new tax measure eliminating the wealth tax and reducing personal income tax, Andalusia is the ideal place of residence for high-income individuals who had fled the tax pressure to settle in Morocco, Catalonia, Portugal or the United Kingdom, assured the President of Andalusia.
Moreno also plans to open a "commercial" office in Barcelona, which will be led by a delegate and staffed by tax and business advisors. The tax burden has increased in recent years in Andalusia. To escape it, most of the wealthy were leaving for abroad, including Morocco, or to Madrid.
