The Algerian army on maximum alert: a message for Morocco?

The People’s National Army (ANP) remains on maximum alert to face security threats and challenges in the region (an allusion to Morocco), said Thursday General Saïd Chengriha, the Algerian army chief of staff.
"The multiplicity of threats and challenges facing our country require the ANP to maintain operational readiness at its highest levels and to continuously monitor the evolution of the security situation in the region, to prepare the forces with the required rigor and to intensify exercises at various levels, in order to master the weapon systems in service and to bring our human resources in line with the significant evolution of the modern art of war," Chengriha said in his orientation speech delivered Thursday during his working visit to the headquarters of the Land Forces Command.
According to Le Courrier d’Algérie, the senior army officer also called on the occasion on military personnel, at all levels, to "carry out the assigned missions with the required rigor". Chengriha did not fail to insist on "the need to continue the efforts to prepare the units and personnel for combat, in accordance with the established plans and programs, and to provide the best living and working conditions for the personnel, especially during this sacred month, in order to enable them to fully accomplish their missions".
