Algeria and Russia to Hold Joint Military Exercises Near Moroccan Border

Algeria and Russia will conduct joint military exercises on the border with Morocco next November.
Russia will participate next November in joint military exercises with Algeria, related to the fight against terrorism, which will take place at the Hamakir base located in the Béchar region, in the southwest, on the border with Morocco. Before the holding of these exercises, Algeria is participating from September 1 to 7, 2022 in joint military exercises with Russia and China.
Organized by the Russian army, these exercises called "Vostok" take place in the Primorye region (Far East), in the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk. They involve the participation of 15 countries. The "Vostok-2022" maneuvers mobilize some 50,000 soldiers, 140 aircraft and helicopters, 60 warships, for "training in offensive and defensive actions on 7 polygons of the Eastern Military District", on land, in the air and at sea.
