Algeria Accuses French Sports Daily of Supporting Separatist Group Under Moroccan Influence

Algeria accuses Morocco of influencing a French sports newspaper to harm it. At issue, an article published on the Movement for the Self-Determination of Kabylia (MAK) described as a terrorist organization by Algiers.
In an article, L’Équipe writes: "Created in 2014 by the MAK, an independence movement, the Kabyle selection proudly carries its regional colors within CONIFA, the FIFA of unrecognized states." This article is not to the liking of Algeria. "Pure fake news," denounces the Algerian press agency, APS, claiming that the French daily "is under the influence of Morocco" and "is caught red-handed supporting a terrorist organization."
"As for this alleged Kabyle national team, it is a pure Moroccan fabrication. Kabylia has its national team, it is the Algerian team that brought thousands of citizens of this valiant and heroic region to the streets to celebrate the Greens’ victory in the Arab Cup of Nations," it is specified.
