Airport Workers' Protest Disrupts Flights to Morocco at Paris-Charles de Gaulle

Demonstrations took place this Friday morning, July 2, in front of Terminal 2 at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport, delaying flights to Morocco.

An unusual situation at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport this Friday. Hundreds of employees blocked Terminal 2 of Roissy (flights to non-Schengen areas). "Disruptions are possible on road access and certain baggage check-in procedures," the Groupe ADP tweeted.

In a statement to the AFP, an airport source said that this blockade caused "at least one hour delay" on the departure of some flights, and that passengers are being directed to other terminals but some have missed their plane. According to her, the delays could get longer. The delayed flights concern those to Tunis, Tel Aviv or Rabat.

The organization of these demonstrations follows the strike notice in the two Parisian airports, Roissy - Charles de Gaulle and Orly, filed by an inter-union. In Orly, no blockade was observed, there were slight slowdowns, reports the same source. According to the explanations of the CGT, these mobilizations were organized to demand the "withdrawal of the PSE and the cessation of changes to employment contracts".

The employment contract adaptation plan (PACT) provides for the elimination of certain bonuses. In case of refusal, the employees will be "potentially dismissable" via a job safeguard plan (PSE), explained Laurent Garssine, general secretary of the Unsa at ADP.
