Air Traffic Control Glitch at Paris-Orly Disrupts Flights, Morocco Routes at Risk

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) requested Sunday evening that airlines cancel 15% of their scheduled flights on Monday departing from Paris-Orly airport, due to an unresolved air traffic control failure. Flights between France and Morocco could be cancelled.
The air traffic control failure that occurred Sunday afternoon, causing the cancellation of 40% of flights from 4 pm until the 11:30 pm curfew, continues. "Following the malfunction observed in the air traffic control system of the Paris-Orly tower this Sunday, May 18, the situation is improving but still requires maintaining air traffic regulation," specifies the DGAC. "We’re managing. It’s not fixed," an airport source specified Sunday evening. This source had previously indicated that "it is a radar failure."
According to Aéroports de Paris (ADP), this failure caused the cancellation of about 130 flights on Sunday. As the failure continues, the DGAC "asks airlines to reduce their flight schedule by 15% at Paris-Orly airport for Monday, May 19, 2025." It also warns that "delays are to be expected." The DGAC also invites affected passengers "to contact their airlines to know the status of their flights." Flights between France and Morocco could be affected by this situation.
