According to the research group led by David Martill of the University of Portsmouth, these are three new species of pterosaurs, flying dinosaurs, reports the journal Cretaceous Research.

According to scientists’ estimates, "the wingspan of the pterosaurs was between three and four meters. The fossilized remains of the prehistoric animals were found on the rocky plateau of Kem Kem, located on the Algerian border of Morocco." According to a Portsmouth spokesperson, "these predators, with extremely sharp teeth, fed on fish, which were abundant in the seas at the time." As for Professor David Martill, he is delighted with these new discoveries made at the beginning of the year.
