Police to Crack Down on COVID Safety Violations as Vaccination Efforts Continue

Sunday 4 July 2021, by Armel

Aware of the paramount importance of citizens’ health within the general security system, the minister reminds through a note that, despite the efforts made so far, at a time when the vaccination campaign continues to be deployed at a sustained pace, "it is not acceptable that irresponsible behaviors put our country at risk of a new wave of pandemic spread."

Thus, territorial officials are asked to ensure the strict and firm implementation of the measures decreed by the public authorities, in particular the wearing of masks, compliance with physical distancing in public places, the prohibition of unauthorized movements between 11 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. and the prohibition of gatherings of more than the authorized number of people (in indoor and outdoor spaces).

It is also recommended to respect the reception capacity of banquet halls, theaters, cinemas, swimming pools, cultural centers, museums... This warning from the Minister of the Interior sounds like a firm warning just two weeks before Eid al-Adha.
