In response to a written question in the House of Representatives, the Delegate Minister in charge of National Defense Administration, Abdellatif Loudiyi, stated that despite the many awareness-raising efforts and measures taken by the DGSSI to protect the computer systems of vital sectors from intrusion and hacking via "electronic" viruses, the risk of an attack remains present, reports the daily Al Akhbar.
The minister also stated that the DGSSI provides the targeted services with the necessary technical assistance. On a regular basis, it conducts audits and analyses of the security of the computer systems of ministries and other strategic bodies, in order to assess their ability to withstand cyberattacks.
This is the task of the monitoring center set up by the DGSSI. According to the minister, this center also provides advice on security vulnerabilities as soon as new threats emerge. In total, 621 security bulletins, including 188 of a critical nature, were issued in 2021.
