Moroccan King Mohammed VI Returns to Paris for Brief Stay After Eid al-Adha
Sunday 17 July 2022, by
Mohammed VI was in the French capital from June 1 until the eve of Eid al-Adha on July 9. On the day of the celebration of this holiday, he led the prayer and sacrificed a lamb in the royal palace of Salé. Three days later, he chaired a Council of Ministers before flying to Paris on Friday, according to sources close to his travels to Vanitatis.
The Moroccan monarch’s stay in the French capital will this time be of short duration, as he is expected to be back in Morocco on July 30 for the celebration of the Throne Feast which commemorates his accession to the throne 23 years ago.
On June 16, Mohammed VI’s personal physician, Lahcen Belyamani, announced that the king had tested positive for Covid-19 and had taken a few days off. During his treatment, the Moroccan monarch received calls from King Abdullah of Jordan and Mohamed Bin Salman, the Saudi crown prince, who wanted to inquire about his health.
