Moroccan Activist Latifa Ibn Ziaten Honored with UAE’s Zayed Human Fraternity Award

In a press release, the Higher Committee for Human Fraternity of the United Arab Emirates announced that the Moroccan activist has been rewarded for her great achievements and influential initiatives taken, which are in line with the values and principles stipulated in the Document on Human Fraternity, the main criterion for awarding the Prize.
For the committee, Ms. Ibn Zyaten is one of the "most active and influential figures in the field of combating extremism. She "has dedicated her life to raising awareness about religious intolerance, following the loss of her son Imad in a terrorist attack carried out in 2012," the same statement continues. "Since then, Latifa has become a civil rights activist. Known in France and abroad, she works with families and communities to prevent young people from falling into the trap of extremism, and to work to spread peace and promote dialogue and mutual respect."
This Thursday, February 4, 2021, she will receive her award at the "Zayed Memorial, the Founder" in Abu Dhabi during the ceremony organized in honor of the laureates. It will be broadcast live on the award’s website, the statement said.
