Marrakech International Film Festival Returns After Two-Year Hiatus

Wednesday 16 March 2022, by Armel

In a press release, the organizers announced the holding of the next edition of the event in "a format that takes into account the evolution of the health situation in Morocco and in the world".

In 2020 and 2021, the FIFM Foundation had canceled the festival, but had virtually organized a program to support young Moroccan, Arab and African filmmakers to explore international markets, which since its launch in 2018 has enabled the production of 88 films.

The last edition of this film event, usually held in November, took place in 2019 and the film "Tant d’âmes" by Colombian director Ricardo Rincón Gille had won the Golden Star, the festival’s first prize.
